Random Media will be providing this service free of charge and absorbing the conversion costs. The main focus will be on the Apple iBooks store which allows publishers to distribute free eBooks unlike some other ebook stores. Over 7 million iPads have been sold since launch six months ago and the catalogue will be available on any device running iOS, meaning that over 125 million devices ranging from iPads to iPhones and iPod Touches can access the catalog.

“The concept for this catalogue is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be supported to help grow the Jamaican economy and contribute to job creation. We are pleased to be able to play a part in helping to increase the reach of this important catalogue” said David Mullings, CEO of Random Media. He added “It is my hope that as Jamaicans, we will recognize that ‘made in Jamaica’ is not limited to physical goods but should encompass our music, literature and much more as we go forward.”

“The catalogue pages look exceptional on the iPad which has revolutionized the reading experience. The vibrant colours and exceptional graphics will assist in giving the advertisers yet another medium to show the very best of what they have to offer” said Deika Morrison, publisher of the Made in Jamaica Catalogue. “Random Media’s generous offer demonstrates yet again its leadership in digitizing Jamaican content to enable a global reach to the discerning international audience”

Random Media LLC is an integrated media and entertainment company focused on Caribbean entertainment and culture. The company focuses on digital distribution of video and print content, distributing eBooks in the Amazon Kindle and Apple iBooks store. It is a YouTube Partner and has signed eBook deals with LMH Publishing and a number of local authors. It was founded by David and Robert Mullings.
